I’ve started my journey towards a healthier lifestyle 3 years ago and became passionate about it. I’m stronger than I ever was. My skin has never looked better. I have gradually lost 8kgs (18 pounds), while enjoying my food. I can’t remember the last time I had a cold, let alone had to go on medication.

This lifestyle has changed my life and I want to share this passion with you.

I want to give you a little hand on your journey to be the very best version of yourself. Healthier, stronger, super confident the-world-is-my-oyster type of girl! I hope it inspires you to try new things; that it helps you make those small changes or big make-overs that may have been on the cards for a while.

You’ll look and feel younger, inside and out.

Full of energy. Your skin will be glowing. Amaze yourself with the new things your body can do. Lose weight too, if that’s something you want.

As a result, you’ll feel happier. Not in a Julie Andrews-The-Hills-Are-Alive type of happy (unless that’s your thing, in which case go for it). I’m talking about the This-Girl-Has-It-Going type of happy, woo-hoo!

The sooner you start, the better. You’ll benefit from this healthier lifestyle changes at any point in your life. Regardless of your job. Or age. After you’ve had babies. When your metabolism is no longer in full throttle and you’re closer to 40 that you’d secretly like to admit – hey darling, 40s are the new 30s anyway, in case you missed the memo.

Sounds good so far?

It doesn’t happen overnight. It may not always be easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Take baby steps. But is it worth it? Oh darling, most definitely.

This is about making a lifestyle change. It’s not about fad diets or working out like mad for a few weeks before bikini-body month and then going back to old habits. It’s about consistency and balance.

You’ll be excited about the new foods you can enjoy. Which also happen to be great to heal or prevent conditions like diabetes, inflammation or that good-old bloated tummy. It’s not about calorie counting and punishment. It’s about nourishment and pleasure.

You’ll be thinking about exercise as a way to treat your gorgeous body. To get the blood flowing, high on those happiness hormones, getting those pins toned and that booty as perky as never before!

Instead of letting time age you, you’re taking charge. You’re turning back the clock as much as you can, by making the right choices every day. By using food as medicine. Through strengthening your core and sweating away the toxins. From smiling a lot, because you just feel sooo great, gorgeous!

Now here’s a thing: I’m just a normal girl.

I’m not a cook, a fitness instructor or a certified nutritionist. I have however been my own guinea pig for a while. I’ve tried and tested the recipes, the workouts, the tops and the leggings.

As part of my job for years I had to get up to speed really quickly on matters I knew very little about. I had to become an expert. I learned how to research, separate the wheat from the chaff, understand where are the quick wins and set long-term strategies. And find out the best way to get there. This has been my mindset all along as I go on this healthy lifestyle journey.

This much I have learned: your choices have to fit your lifestyle. Otherwise they won’t stick.


I have 3 small kids which I adore, but who take up most of my time. I don’t have hours on end to spend in the kitchen. I can’t be preparing 3 different meals every day: mum’s menu, hubby’s menu and kids menu. That’s madness.

My workouts have end on that high that motivates me to come back. They have to deliver results.

Sure, I have a couple of hours a few times a week, otherwise I would not be setting myself up to write this. But it really takes planning and passion to fit it all in. And I feel this is what happens to most girls and women, regardless of whether you’re working full time at the office or at home.

So: want a healthier lifestyle? YES. Want to make things harder on yourself? NO. And you don’t have to.

Sure, there’s not one-size-fits-all. You know best what will work for you.

I’m sharing what has worked for me and I hope that you’ll find something there to inspire you too.

So here’s what I’ll commit to deliver. My commitment to you:

Delicious, get-that-body-dancin’ healthy food

You’ll find practical, down to earth healthy food tips, lists, how-tos and recipes. They’re delicious and great for your body.

My food regime does not fit into existing “boxes”. The best way to describe it is that mostly plant-based topped with lean, healthy animal protein. No refined sugar. Gluten-free. Mostly dairy-free. And REAL food only, peps. None of that processed s**t.

Move that gorgeous body, darling.

There’s lots of ways get more exercise in your life. Luckily there are many different workouts out there to choose from, and I’ll let you in on the ones I’ve tried and what I’ve liked (or not) about them.

Oh, and the frocks!

What to wear. I spend at least half of my day in leggings. Pathetic, you’re thinking. Actually, it’s not. It can be lots of fun. And you don’t need to break the bank either.

A little bit about me

My name is Catarina. I’m a management consultant, mum and healthy lifestyle obsessed advocate and blogger.

Born in Portugal, I live in London with hubby and our 3 kids. I’m on the other side of 35 (but no-one would say I was a year older than 27, obviously).

I had never looked after myself much. Other than trying the latest fad diet when I felt like I needed to lose some weight (not that this counts as looking after yourself, but I thought it did). And why would I bother exercising if it was only going to make me feel hungry?

At 35, after having had baby #3, things weren’t looking that great.

The Kids

The baby weight was still there. And then there was gravity my darling, gravity. Things were going dooown. I had all sorts of aches and pains too. I had probably just about as much energy as it took to get to Tesco’s to buy wet wipes and chocolate fingers (new mums every day essentials!).

Unless you do something about it I thought, these bitches are going to take over! So I decided something had to change. I decided to try to exercise. I started reading about plant-based eating. Bought a couple of healthy coobooks and started experimenting.

There was this light bulb moment when I first made raw chocolate brownies – man, these are good! And just look at how bloody easy they were to make too. Got me thinking that this could actually be a good idea. And loved the way I felt afterwards. So I just kept going.

I hated cooking. Now I actually got pretty good at food assembly.


And I actually look forward to the meals I prepare, instead of reaching out for the selection of home-delivery menus in the drawer come dinner time.

I had NEVER exercised in my life. Now I’ll miss a day when can’t fit a workout in.

It makes me feel great. And it completely changed my body too, which I love (and I won’t lie). Curves in the right places. Strong, to run and play around with the kids, throw them in the air and have them thinking mum is Superwoman! It’s so worth it.
